Due to a large number of requests for help with EndNote, we are running EndNote workshops each Thursday lunchtimes 1pm-2pm for the next five weeks starting tomorrow (from 2nd April until 1st May) at Harrison Learning Centre. There’s no need to book, just come along if you are interested.

We will also be running InfoBites workshops on Tuesday lunchtimes, please keep an eye on the Information Skills webpages for an up-to-date version of the calendar. If you are a Google Calendar user, you may also wish to add the InfoBites calendar to keep updated with all the InfoBites sessions.

I came across these videos on YouTube recently and thought I’d share them with you. They are a great introduction to using JSTOR.

There are many other videos on YouTube, including tutorials for Google Scholar, so it may be a useful resource to keep in mind.

The Easter Vacation is here……

If you need to use the Harrison learning centre during the vacation we are open 9.00 -5.00 on Good Friday, Easter Monday and Easter Tuesday. We will be staffed by the security staff so you will be able to study, use books, journals and computers and also issue books using the self-service machines.

A new InfoBites session has been set up specifically for HLSS students. On the 20th of February there is a workshop for researching for information in humanities. Places are limited so you will need to book to attend, so don’t hang around!

There are a wide range of topics covered in these sessions so if you need to brush up on your referencing or just need an introduction to web skills or Endnote, check the program out. There will be additions to the timetable so if there are any more topics that you would like to be covered just email me.

Some of the session are drop in but a few have to be booked due to numbers, make sure you check out the online booking form for details.

As this blog is new I thought I would let you know about assist, you may already know about it ……but if not it could be incredibly useful. You can chat to a University of Wolverhampton librarian online wherever you are – you could be at home, at university or even studying in a coffee shop – anywhere you can access the internet you can chat and get advice!
They can help you with using electronic databases and journals, finding research, or general enquiries about Learning Centres.
